London to the Westside in one leg

London to Los Angeles is 5,440 miles, which the Gulfstream G650, Global 6000 and Falcon 8X fly non-stop in about eleven hours. A heavy jet such as the Legacy 650 stops on the East Coast or in Canada and lands about two hours later, which some clients prefer as a chance to stretch.

The eight-hour time difference is the route's gift: an 11 am departure from Farnborough lands at Van Nuys at 2 pm local time. Customs clears at the FBO by prior arrangement, and Beverly Hills is thirty minutes away. LAX takes the VIP airliners and has full customs; Burbank suits the studios and the hills.

Los Angeles is a base for a great many large-cabin aircraft, so the return leg prices well, and a round trip with the aircraft waiting in California is often the better value.

Farnborough for the west, Luton for the north and late departures, Biggin Hill for the City, Stansted for the largest cabins.

What the flight costs

Prices below are indicative one-way figures for the whole aircraft, not per seat. They cover the flight, crew, fuel and any fuel stop; parking in Los Angeles, repositioning and handling are quoted separately.

A return with the aircraft waiting in California is usually priced well below two one-way flights. Tell us your dates and we confirm the figure in writing.

When Los Angeles fills up

Los Angeles is busiest in awards season and around the big weekends, when Van Nuys parking is the constraint.

  1. January to March Awards season Golden Globes, Grammys and the Oscars bring a wave of inbound aircraft; Van Nuys and Burbank ramps fill the day before each ceremony.
  2. 14 February 2027 Super Bowl LXI SoFi Stadium hosts the game and the whole basin fills from the Thursday. Hawthorne and LAX slots go first; the FAA runs a reservation programme at every private airport for the weekend.
  3. February Frieze Los Angeles Collectors in for the week; a quieter peak than the awards but the same airports.
  4. April Coachella Two weekends of outbound traffic to Palm Springs and Thermal, and light jets are the scarce resource.
  5. Thanksgiving The long weekend The Wednesday before and the Sunday after are the busiest private days of the autumn.
  6. December to January Christmas and New Year Outbound to Aspen, Cabo and Hawaii peaks in the week before Christmas.

Los Angeles to London

The return leaves from Van Nuys, LAX or Burbank and lands at whichever London airport suits you. Eastbound the jet stream helps: allow about ten hours non-stop. The classic pattern is an evening departure from Van Nuys that lands in London mid-afternoon the next day.

Van Nuys restricts the loudest aircraft between 10 pm and 7 am, so a late departure may mean Burbank or LAX. In awards season, Van Nuys parking is the scarce resource, and we secure the return when we book the outbound.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a private jet from London to Los Angeles cost?

Indicative one-way prices for the whole aircraft start at about $125,000 in a heavy jet; about $160,000 in a ultra-long-range jet; about $275,000 in a vip airliner. Repositioning, overnight parking and handling are quoted separately once we know your dates, and a return with the aircraft waiting is usually priced well below two one-way flights.

How long is the flight?

About 11 hours flight time, depending on the aircraft, the winds and the airports at each end. Every cabin class listed flies it without a stop.

Which airports can I use?

From London: Farnborough, London Luton, Biggin Hill and London Stansted. Into Los Angeles: Van Nuys, Hollywood Burbank, Los Angeles International and John Wayne. Each is described above with its drive time and the operators that handle private flights there.

How do immigration and customs work on arrival?

International arrivals clear US Customs and Border Protection at the FBO at LAX, or at Van Nuys by prior arrangement. ESTA or a visa is required for most nationalities; we confirm when we book.

Can my dog travel with me?

Pets travel in the cabin. Entering the US, a dog needs a microchip, a CDC import form and, from most countries, a rabies vaccination record; we arrange the paperwork with the handler.

Can I pay for the charter with crypto?

Yes. Bank transfer in any major currency; crypto also accepted. Tell us your preferred coin and we confirm the network and payment instructions with the contract.

Do you arrange the car at each end?

Yes. We coordinate chauffeured cars on both ends, so a car meets you at the aircraft in LA and the driver knows the airport's private terminal.

Where would you like to fly?

Tell us what you have in mind. Our team will take care of the charter arrangements and discuss crypto payment if you prefer.
