Van Nuys is the default, the busiest private airport in the country with three handling agents and customs on request. Burbank is closer for the studios and the Hollywood Hills, John Wayne for Newport Beach, Long Beach for the South Bay, and LAX takes VIP airliners and most international arrivals. We choose the airport around the address, the aircraft around the party, and hold Van Nuys parking on the awards weekends that fill the city.

A midsize jet from New York flies non-stop with a light load; a super-midsize cabin flies it non-stop in any wind from about $38,000. From London the heavy jet stops once in the eastern US, adding about an hour; an ultra-long-range Global 7500 or G650ER flies it non-stop from about $160,000 and is the usual choice from Tokyo.

Los Angeles is busiest in awards season and around the big weekends, when Van Nuys parking is the constraint.
Passport details go to the handler before you land, the car is on the ramp at Van Nuys or Burbank, and the house, the table or the driver for the week are arranged in the same conversation as the flight.
International arrivals clear US Customs and Border Protection at the FBO at LAX, or at Van Nuys by prior arrangement. ESTA or a visa is required for most nationalities; we confirm when we book.
Pets travel in the cabin. Entering the US, a dog needs a microchip, a CDC import form and, from most countries, a rabies vaccination record; we arrange the paperwork with the handler.
A chauffeured car meets the aircraft on the ramp at Van Nuys or whichever airport you land at, and the driver knows the private terminal, not the commercial one.

Indicative one-way prices for the whole aircraft start at about $6,500 from Las Vegas in a light jet, about $8,500 from San Francisco, about $17,500 from Dallas, about $30,000 from New York in a midsize jet, and about $125,000 from London in a heavy jet. Repositioning, overnight parking and handling are quoted separately once we know your dates.

LAX for VIP airliners, international arrivals and the South Bay. Long Beach for the South Bay and Palos Verdes, and John Wayne for Newport Beach and Orange County, ten minutes from Newport. From the West Coast, usually yes: a light jet from Las Vegas, San Francisco or Scottsdale can often depart within a few hours, and Van Nuys has more aircraft based on the field than any other private airport. From New York, a midsize jet the same day is realistic before lunch; from London or Tokyo, twenty-four hours is the minimum because of crew duty times and customs notice.

Awards season from January to March, when the Golden Globes, the Grammys and the Oscars fill Van Nuys and Burbank the day before each ceremony; Frieze in February; the Coachella weekends in April; the Wednesday before Thanksgiving; and the fortnight before Christmas. On those dates Van Nuys parking goes first, so we book the slot with the flight and hold Burbank or Long Beach as the fallback.
