One airport at the Austin end, and its customs hours

Farnborough to Austin-Bergstrom is 4,255 nautical miles, 4,897 statute miles, a little further than London to Houston and about 475 nautical miles short of London to Los Angeles. The Falcon 7X is the smallest cabin we quote non-stop; the Gulfstream G650, Falcon 8X and Global 6000 fly it with more margin against the westbound winds.

Austin is six hours behind London. Leave Farnborough at 10 am and you land at Austin-Bergstrom around 2.30 pm local time, five miles from downtown and about fifteen minutes from South Congress or the Circuit of the Americas.

The hours at the Austin end shape the plan more than the flight itself. A customs officer meets private arrivals at the FBO, generally from 8.30 am to 9 pm, and permission to land is requested a business day ahead. A late London departure, or a weekend arrival booked after Friday, needs the times agreed before we confirm the aircraft.

Which London airport to leave from is set out in our guide to the private jet airports in London: FBOs, customs and curfews, side by side.

Why flights from London land at Austin-Bergstrom

Austin-Bergstrom is the only airport in the Austin area with US customs, so every flight from London lands there first. Signature, Atlantic and Million Air run its three private terminals, and its longest runway, 12,250 ft, takes every cabin from the Falcon 7X to the Airbus and Boeing business jets.

Austin Executive in Pflugerville, ten miles from The Domain, and Georgetown, for Williamson County, are closer for the north of the city, but neither has customs. If you are staying up there, a car meets you at Austin-Bergstrom once customs is cleared: about half an hour to The Domain outside the rush hour.

London to Austin for the United States Grand Prix

The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, in late October, is the busiest weekend of the year at Austin-Bergstrom. The FAA requires a ramp reservation for every private arrival and departure over the race period and runs departure slots on race night, and the airports nearby fill too.

From London, that means booking the aircraft, the Austin ramp reservation and the return slot together, as early as the dates allow. A Thursday arrival from Farnborough lands in daylight, inside the customs hours, with Friday practice still ahead. On race night the departure slot, not the aircraft, decides when you leave.

London to Austin private jet cost

Prices below are indicative one-way figures for the whole aircraft, not per seat, from Farnborough to Austin-Bergstrom for an aircraft that is already in London. They cover the flight, the crew and the fuel; repositioning, overnight parking in Austin, the crew's hotel nights, handling and taxes are quoted separately.

A return with the aircraft waiting in Texas is usually priced well below two one-way flights; on Grand Prix weekend it is often the only way to hold the return slot. Tell us your dates and we confirm the figure in writing.

The hourly rate for each cabin, and what moves a quote up or down, are in our guide to private jet charter costs.

Long-range cabins for a ten-hour flight

Ten hours west into the prevailing wind puts range first. The Falcon 7X is the heavy jet that flies it non-stop. The G650 is the quickest cabin on the leg; with the Falcon 8X and Global 6000 it adds a lower cabin altitude and room to sleep. VIP airliners carry the largest groups, a company offsite or a family with staff, from Stansted or Luton.

  1. Late October Formula 1 United States Grand Prix 22 to 25 October 2026 at the Circuit of the Americas. The FAA requires a ramp reservation for every private flight at Austin-Bergstrom from 22 to 26 October and departure slots on race night; the nearby airports fill too.

  3. Autumn Saturdays Texas Longhorns home games Football weekends bring extra traffic into Austin-Bergstrom, and in 2026 one lands on Grand Prix weekend.

Austin to London

The return leaves Austin-Bergstrom for whichever London airport suits the rest of your day. Eastbound the jet stream helps, and the same aircraft is usually about an hour quicker. An evening departure from Austin lands in London the next morning, when every London airport is open.

After the Grand Prix, the race-night departure slot decides the time, so we request it with the outbound. Before landing in London the operator files the passenger details with UK Border Force; most non-British visitors need a UK ETA or a visa.
