Dallas to Austin: three hours on I-35, or forty-five minutes

Dallas to Austin is 189 miles, about forty-five minutes in a light jet against three hours or more on I-35. Most of our Dallas clients leave from Love Field, ten minutes from Uptown and Highland Park; Addison suits Plano and Frisco.

Austin-Bergstrom is the usual arrival: three private terminals, five miles south-east of downtown and about fifteen minutes from the Circuit of the Americas. Austin Executive in Pflugerville is closer to The Domain and Round Rock, and Georgetown to Williamson County.

Aircraft are based in numbers at both ends, so a same-day booking is almost always possible, and a day trip with the aircraft waiting usually costs less than two one-way flights.

Which Dallas airport to leave from is set out in our guide to the private jet airports in Dallas: FBOs, customs and curfews, side by side.

Flying to the Austin Grand Prix

The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix runs from 22 to 25 October 2026 at the Circuit of the Americas, and it changes how Austin's airports work. The FAA requires a ramp reservation for every private arrival and departure at Austin-Bergstrom from 22 to 26 October, including drop-offs, and departure slots on race night.

The FAA warns that parking at the surrounding airports may run out too, and the FBOs charge an event fee. We book the ramp, the slot and the parking with the flight, and where Austin-Bergstrom is full we drop the party there and park the aircraft elsewhere.

What the flight costs

Prices below are indicative one-way figures for the whole aircraft, not per seat. They include the flight, crew and fuel; parking, event fees, repositioning and handling are quoted once we know your dates.

Operators bill a minimum of about two flying hours a day, so a same-day return on the same aircraft is usually priced well below two separate one-way flights.

The hourly rate for each cabin, and what moves a quote up or down, are in our private jet charter cost guide.
