Most private flights into Dallas land at Love Field, about four miles from Uptown and the second-busiest private jet airport in the US. Addison, twelve miles north, is the closer airport for Plano and Frisco, and DFW's own private terminal takes the VIP airliners.
Fort Worth has two more: Meacham, five miles north of downtown Fort Worth, and Alliance, with two 11,000 ft runways, for the largest jets. For flights, prices and aircraft into the city, see private jet to Dallas.
All five have customs on the field, so in Dallas the choice comes down to the neighbourhood and the size of the aircraft.
| Airport | From Downtown | Aircraft | Customs | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dallas Love Field DAL | About 5 miles; the closest jet runway to Uptown and Highland Park | Every business jet; wingspans of 118 ft and over by permission | On the field, in its own building; evenings and weekends arranged by 4.30 pm | Uptown, Highland Park, Preston Hollow |
| Addison Airport ADS | About 13 miles; the closest jet airport to Plano and Frisco | Most business jets, on a single 7,203 ft runway | Weekdays 10 am to 7 pm, otherwise by appointment | Plano, Frisco, North Dallas |
| Dallas Fort Worth International Airport DFW | About 16 miles; about seven miles from Southlake | Every size, including airliner conversions | Attached to the private terminal; 24 hours' notice | VIP airliners, Las Colinas, Southlake |
| Fort Worth Meacham International Airport FTW | About 32 miles; five miles north of downtown Fort Worth, by the city's figure | Most business jets, on a 7,502 ft runway | Weekdays 10 am to 7 pm, otherwise arranged | Fort Worth |
| Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport AFW | About 33 miles; about six miles from Westlake | Every size, on two runways of 11,000 ft and more | Weekdays 8 am to 5 pm, otherwise arranged | The largest jets, Westlake, north Fort Worth |

Love Field sits just north-west of Uptown and Addison twelve miles north; DFW is midway to Fort Worth, and Meacham and Alliance are on Fort Worth's side. Lines are straight-line distances to Downtown Dallas.

Dallas Love Field
DAL · KDAL · Dallas Love Field, City of Dallas
Love Field, owned by the City of Dallas, is the city's private jet airport: about four miles from Uptown and three from Highland Park, and second only to Teterboro in the US for private jet departures in 2025, with 41,379. The Wright Amendment's gate limits apply to the airlines, not to private flights.
Four companies run private terminals here, Signature with four of its own, and the airfield is staffed around the clock. Customs works on the field in its own building, not inside an FBO: officers are on duty on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm, evening and weekend arrivals are arranged by 4.30 pm, and each clearance takes up to ten people.
There is no curfew. A voluntary noise programme, in place since 1981, sends jets to the main runway at night, and aircraft with a wingspan of 118 ft or more need permission to taxi.
Seven private terminals, from four companies.
Four terminals on Lemmon Avenue. Two are open around the clock, one with a heated hangar and one with VIP and head-of-state handling; the other two open from 6 am to 10 pm and let cars onto the ramp.
Open 24 hours, with hangar space for aircraft up to the size of a Global 6500.
Open 24 hours, with overnight hangar space and a gated ramp entrance.

Addison, owned by the Town of Addison, is twelve miles north of Uptown and the closest jet airport to Plano and Frisco, about ten and twelve miles away. Some 600 aircraft are based on the field, and the town counts more than 120,000 movements a year.
One 7,203 ft runway takes most business jets. There is no curfew, though the tower closes from 10 pm to 6 am. Customs works on the field on weekdays from 10 am to 7 pm, and by appointment outside those hours, for a fee set by the town by the aircraft's weight.
Open 24 hours, with a 62,000 sq ft international ramp beside customs and cars allowed to the aircraft.
Open around the clock, with three large hangars and a seven-acre ramp.
Open from 6 am to 10 pm, with a heated hangar for aircraft up to the size of a Gulfstream G550.

DFW is one of the world's busiest airline airports, midway between Dallas and Fort Worth, about seven miles from Southlake and fifteen from Uptown. Its private side is a single terminal run by the airport itself, DFW Corporate Aviation, open from 5 am to midnight.
Customs is attached to that terminal, so passengers clear and leave from the same building, but permission to land is needed 24 hours before take-off abroad. With runways up to 13,401 ft and a ramp that takes airliner wingspans by arrangement, it is where Boeing and Airbus business jets land for Dallas.
The only private terminal at DFW, run by the airport, open from 5 am to midnight with an after-hours service for a fee, customs attached and transport to the airline terminals on request.

Meacham, owned by the City of Fort Worth, is five miles north of downtown Fort Worth and the Fort Worth airport for most private flights: closer to Sundance Square, the Cultural District and Westover Hills than anything on the Dallas side.
Its 7,502 ft runway takes most business jets, the tower is open around the clock, and customs works on the field on weekdays from 10 am to 7 pm, by arrangement at other times. Two FBOs share the field, and Modern Aviation is adding 87,000 sq ft of hangars, due in early 2027.
The former American Aero, bought in 2024, with 87,000 sq ft of new hangars due in early 2027.
Listed by the City of Fort Worth as Meacham's second FBO.

Alliance, north of Fort Worth, was built as an industrial airport for cargo and government aircraft, and its two runways of 11,000 ft and more take any business jet at full weight. It is about six miles from Westlake and ten from Southlake, and quieter than DFW.
One FBO, Alliance Aviation Services, runs the private side from a terminal of more than 20,000 sq ft with about 200,000 sq ft of hangars. Customs works on the field on weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm and by arrangement at other times, in its own building.
The only FBO, with a terminal of more than 20,000 sq ft, a 68,000 sq ft hangar attached and about 200,000 sq ft of hangars in all.
A 7,002 ft runway in McKinney, north-east of Plano, with McKinney Air Center and customs on weekdays from 10 am to 7 pm, by appointment otherwise. An alternative to Addison for McKinney and Prosper.
The City of Dallas's second airport, about eight miles south of downtown, with a 7,136 ft runway, Ambassador Jet Center and Jet Access, and no customs.
About six miles from AT&T Stadium, with a 6,080 ft runway and Arlington Air Center; light and midsize jets, no customs.
A 7,002 ft runway north of the Metroplex, with Sheltair and no customs.

Each route page has the flight time, the airports at both ends, the aircraft that suit it and an indicative price.

Love Field or Addison to Aspen, in an aircraft that fits the mountain airport.
Love Field to Scottsdale Airport in about two hours and a quarter.
Love Field, Addison or DFW, about two and a half hours.
The jets we fly most out of Dallas, and what the airports mean for each.
The hourly rate follows the aircraft, but the airport adds its own lines: handling and parking at the FBO, customs fees set by each airport by the aircraft's weight, and after-hours fees at DFW. The larger cost is usually positioning, if the aircraft is based at the other side of the Metroplex. The private jet charter cost guide has the hourly rates by cabin and what moves a quote.
Range depends on the aircraft, the passengers, the winds and the routing. From Dallas, both coasts are non-stop in a light or midsize jet, and London is about ten hours. The private jet range finder shows which aircraft fly your route non-stop.
Love Field for most trips: about four miles from Uptown, second in the US for private jet departures in 2025, four private terminal operators and customs on the field. Addison is closer for Plano and Frisco, and DFW takes VIP airliners.
Love Field for Uptown, Highland Park, Preston Hollow and downtown; Addison for Plano, Frisco and Legacy West. Both have customs and no curfew. Love Field has the longer runway, 8,800 ft against 7,203 ft, for a long flight at full weight.
Yes. DFW has one private terminal, DFW Corporate Aviation, run by the airport and open from 5 am to midnight, with customs attached. It is the usual choice for Boeing and Airbus business jets, and close to Las Colinas and Southlake.
Love Field, Addison, DFW, Meacham, Alliance and McKinney all have customs on the field, as user-fee or airport facilities. None clears private flights around the clock without notice: outside the posted hours the officers are arranged in advance, at Love Field by 4.30 pm for an evening or weekend arrival, and DFW needs 24 hours.
Meacham, five miles north of downtown Fort Worth, for most flights, and Alliance, north of the city, for the largest jets and for Westlake. Both have customs on the field and towers open around the clock.
DFW, where the private terminal ramp takes airliner wingspans by arrangement and customs is attached, or Alliance, with two runways of 11,000 ft and more. At Love Field, aircraft with a wingspan of 118 ft or more need permission to taxi.
No. Love Field is staffed around the clock. A voluntary noise programme asks jets to use the main runway, 13R-31L, from 9 pm to 6 am, and limits engine run-ups at night.
