One flight, then the seaplane
London to the Maldives is 5,300 miles, at the edge of what business jets fly non-stop. A Gulfstream G650, Global 7500 or Falcon 8X does it in about ten and a half hours; a heavy jet such as the Legacy 650 stops in Dubai or Muscat and arrives about two hours later, which many clients prefer as an overnight pattern with a dinner stop.
The islands run five hours ahead of London in winter, so a late-morning departure lands at Velana late in the evening. That matters: the seaplanes that serve most resorts fly only in daylight, so a night arrival means a speedboat resort, a night in Malé, or an arrival timed for the morning. Maafaru, in the north, avoids the problem for the resorts within its reach.
We arrange the resort transfer with the handler before landing, so the boat or seaplane is waiting at the dock when immigration is done.
