Raleigh to Vegas: the aircraft decides the stop
Raleigh to Las Vegas is 2,020 miles westbound, which puts it at the edge of what a light jet can do. A Phenom 300 or Citation CJ4 makes the trip with one fuel stop, usually in Kansas or Oklahoma, for about half an hour on the ground. From a long-range midsize such as the Citation Latitude upwards, the flight is non-stop in about five hours.
Las Vegas is three hours behind Raleigh. A noon departure from Raleigh-Durham lands at Harry Reid at about 2 pm local time, in time for an afternoon by the pool and a show that evening. For quieter arrivals there is Henderson Executive, twenty minutes from the south Strip, and North Las Vegas for Summerlin.
Groups from the Triangle make up much of this traffic: conventions, bachelor and birthday weekends, and golf trips that pair Pinehurst in the spring with the desert courses in the winter. For a party of six or more, the super-midsize cabin is where the price per head starts to make sense.
