Heavy jet · Dassault
A Falcon 900 shortened and given two engines, with a stand-up cabin and an approach slow enough for London City, for clients who would rather not drive to Farnborough.
Six to eight people on flights of one to eight hours: London City to Geneva for the day, Paris or London to New York, Dubai to London. Four large seats sit in a forward club with a dining or conference group of four behind, and nearly every seat has its own window.
Dassault puts its take-off run about 1,000 ft shorter than its closest rival's, and about 2,000 ft shorter at high airfields such as Aspen. A Challenger 605 has a similar cabin length and price; a Legacy 650 is longer but 9 in narrower. For London to Los Angeles or New York to Dubai, take a Falcon 7X or a Global.
Ten seats is a full aircraft, and eight is the comfortable number for a night flight. The published 4,000 nm covers the North Atlantic and Dubai to London but little more. London City's short runway also limits fuel, so a transatlantic flight from there usually stops on the way.
Published figures for the type. Seating, beds and connectivity vary with each aircraft's layout and operator, and we confirm them for the actual aircraft before you book.

Range as published: Dassault's figure at normal cruise (Mach 0.80) with NBAA IFR reserves; its technical sheet quotes six passengers and two crew, its product page eight passengers. On the day it depends on passengers and luggage, winds, the airports, temperature and the reserves the operator carries.

The cabin is 26 ft 2 in long, 7 ft 8 in wide and 6 ft 2 in high, with a flat floor. Dassault's usual layout puts four large seats forward and a conference or dining group aft, sometimes with a divan. The galley is at the front, the lavatory and hold at the back. It is a quiet cabin for its size, and HEPA filtration is an option.
Eight to ten seats in two zones: a forward club of four and a conference or dining group of four, sometimes with a divan.
A night crossing works best with six or fewer, so each passenger has a fully reclining seat or the divan. We confirm what berths on the specific aircraft.
Eighteen large windows, one beside nearly every seat.
130.6 cu ft in the hold behind the lavatory, reachable in flight. A suitcase and a soft bag each for eight fits; skis for a full cabin may not.
FalconConnect with Ka-band satellite Wi-Fi is fitted on many aircraft and works over the ocean. Older systems are slower, and we confirm which one the aircraft carries.
Dassault publishes 4,000 nm at Mach 0.80 with NBAA IFR reserves, and names Paris to New York and Dubai to London City as examples. Treat those as the edge of the envelope. Westbound with eight on board into a winter headwind, the crew may plan a stop.
It climbs direct to 41,000 ft in about 20 minutes, approaches at 105 knots and needs 4,675 ft to take off at maximum weight at sea level. London City's runway is shorter than that, so departures from there leave light and a transatlantic flight usually stops. Arrivals into London City from New York are no problem.
Trips this aircraft flies well, each with its own page: the airports at both ends, flight times and indicative prices by cabin.
It prices at the lower end of the heavy jets, usually close to a Challenger 605 and below a Legacy 650 or Falcon 7X. Out of London City it can cost more than a larger aircraft from Farnborough, because fewer aircraft can do the job, so we price both. A return with the aircraft waiting usually costs well below two one-way flights, and we name the aircraft and its year in writing.
As a guide, heavy jets charter at about $9,000 to $13,000 an hour for the aircraft, crew and fuel. Positioning, airport charges, overnight costs and the season are added for the trip, and the quote is one figure in writing.
When the Falcon 2000LXS is not available on your dates, or the trip asks for something slightly different, these are the aircraft we would put beside it.

Up to ten, and eight to ten on most charter aircraft. For a night flight six to eight is the comfortable number, so everyone has a seat that reclines fully.
Dassault publishes 4,000 nm at Mach 0.80 with NBAA IFR reserves. With a full cabin and real winds the practical figure is lower, but it covers Paris to New York and Dubai to London, the city pairs Dassault itself quotes.
Yes. It is certified for London City's steep approach, as it is for Lugano. Departures from London City carry less fuel because the runway is short, so a transatlantic flight out of Canary Wharf usually includes a stop; arrivals from New York usually do not.
Yes, on the main North Atlantic routes. New York to London or Paris is non-stop; London to New York usually is, though with eight on board and a winter headwind the crew may plan a fuel stop.
The 7X has three engines, a cabin about 13 ft longer and 5,950 nm of published range against 4,000 nm. The 2000LXS is cheaper to charter and suits trips of up to about seven hours; the 7X suits longer flights and larger parties.
The hold is 130.6 cu ft and reachable in flight. As a rough guide that takes a suitcase and a soft bag each for eight; with skis or golf bags for a full cabin, tell us the count and we will check, or suggest a Legacy 650.
Many do. Dassault's FalconConnect package includes Ka-band satellite Wi-Fi that works over the ocean, but older installations are slower and fit varies by operator. We confirm the system on the specific aircraft before you book.
