The Datejust is the watch Rolex built the rest of the catalogue around: the first self-winding, waterproof wristwatch with a date window, from 1945, and largely unchanged in intent since. The 126334 is the 41 mm version in Oystersteel with a fluted 18 ct white gold bezel, on calibre 3235 with about 70 hours of reserve.
What makes this one worth a page of its own is the dial. Rolex offers the 126334 in a long list of colours, most of them variations on doing the safe thing well. The green sunburst is not one of those. It is the dial that gets noticed across a table, and it is the reason people who were going to buy a Datejust eventually buy this Datejust.
The other decision is the bracelet. The same reference is listed on the Oyster and on the Jubilee, and it is genuinely a different watch on each — the Jubilee softer and dressier, the Oyster flatter and more modern. Tell us which you want, because it is not a strap swap.

The Jubilee's five-piece links are softer on the wrist and read dressier; the Oyster is flatter and more modern. They are different references rather than an option you can change later, so decide before we start looking.
What does the 126334 mean?
In Rolex's scheme the last digits describe the bezel and metal combination: 126334 is the 41 mm Datejust in Oystersteel with a fluted white gold bezel. A smooth-bezel steel version is the 126300.
Is the green dial harder to find than the other colours?
It is asked for more than most, so it moves faster, but the Datejust is produced in large enough numbers that this is rarely a long search. We confirm what is realistic for your brief before you commit.
