A working travel complication under a gem-set bezel.

The GMT-Master II does something the Daytona does not: it is genuinely useful. The 24-hour hand and the rotating bezel let you read a second and a third time zone at a glance, and the hour hand jumps independently so you can reset local time on landing without stopping the watch.

The blue-and-red bezel — the one the trade calls Pepsi — began as a way of separating day hours from night hours on the original pilots' watch. On the gem-set references Rolex reproduces that division in baguette-cut sapphires and rubies rather than ceramic, set in its own workshop, with diamonds through the lugs and crown guards.

These are small-run watches and the specification varies, so we would rather agree the exact reference with you than name one here. Tell us the metal and the stones you want and we will come back with what exists and what is findable.

Other Rolex watches requested

Each page is a guide to the reference and how we source it, not a listing. If yours is not here, ask anyway.

Sourced to your brief, itemised before you decide

Nothing on this page is stock. On a gem-set reference the individual watch is the specification, so we agree it with you first.

The brief

Metal, the stone colours around the bezel, and whether you want it on the bracelet or the Oysterflex. A photograph of the one you have seen settles it fastest.

Availability and timing

Confirmed for each request. Gem-set GMT-Masters are produced in very small numbers, and we will say plainly if a specification is not findable in a sensible timeframe.

What accompanies the watch

Box, warranty card, booklets, tags, spare links and any gemmological documentation are itemised for the individual watch we propose.

Condition and documents

We set out whether the setting is factory or aftermarket, the condition of the stones and settings, and the service history. Aftermarket setting is common on gold Rolexes and materially changes what the watch is worth.

Every request begins with a conversation: in London, or wherever you are.

Four steps, no pressure

  1. Brief

Send the reference by WhatsApp or the form, with the dial, set and timing that matter to you. A collection or a style is enough to begin.

  2. Source

We go to our network rather than a boutique list, and come back with what is realistic on availability and timing before you commit to anything.

  3. Verify

Condition, documents and what accompanies the watch are set out in writing for the individual piece we propose. You decide with the details in front of you.

  4. Settle and deliver

Bank transfer in any major currency, or crypto. Collection in London or fully insured delivery, agreed for the watch and the destination.

Frequently asked questions

Does the gem-set bezel still rotate?

Yes. It is a working bidirectional 24-hour bezel, set with stones rather than fitted with a ceramic insert, so the travel function is unaffected.

How do I know the stones are factory?

It is the first thing we establish and we set it out in writing. Aftermarket setting on gold Rolexes is widespread and identifiable from the setting work and the paperwork.

Can I change the time zone without stopping the watch?

Yes. The GMT-Master II's hour hand jumps in one-hour steps independently of the minutes, so local time resets on landing without touching the running of the watch.

How long does it take to source one?

It depends on the configuration and how specific the brief is. We tell you what is realistic at the start rather than quote a number we cannot keep.

Can I pay in crypto?

Yes. Bank transfer in any major currency, or crypto; Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum, USDT and other major coins and stablecoins are accepted. The coin, network and amount are confirmed with you before any transfer.
