The 126506 is the platinum Cosmograph Daytona, introduced in March 2023 with the generation that moved to calibre 4131. It keeps the pairing the platinum Daytona has had since 2013: an ice-blue dial, a colour Rolex uses only on platinum, with chestnut brown counter rings and a chestnut brown monobloc Cerachrom bezel, now inside a thin platinum rim.
What it added is a sapphire crystal case back. Monochrome called it the first Daytona in the regular collection to have one, and through it you see calibre 4131 with its Côtes de Genève finish and a yellow gold rotor that no other 4131 Daytona of 2023 carried. Its predecessor, the 116506, has a solid platinum back.
Rolex offers it with plain hour markers or baguette-cut diamonds, which are different suffixes. Tell us which, and whether the 116506 would also do; availability and timing are confirmed for your request before you commit to anything.

The display back is the real difference. If seeing the movement matters, ask for the 126506; if it is the ice-blue platinum Daytona you want, the 116506, the first platinum Daytona of 2013, widens the search.

It is Rolex's convention for platinum. The colour is not offered on the steel or gold Daytonas, so an ice-blue dial on an Oyster case identifies the metal on sight.
The 116506 ran from 2013 to 2023 on calibre 4130, with a solid back and ceramic to the edge of the bezel. The 126506 replaced it in 2023 with calibre 4131, a sapphire back and a thin platinum rim round the bezel. Both have the ice-blue dial and chestnut Cerachrom.
