Ice blue is how Rolex tells you it is platinum.
Rolex reserves the ice-blue dial for platinum. That is the whole convention: if you see that particular pale blue on an Oyster Perpetual case, the case is 950 platinum, and the brown Cerachrom bezel on the Daytona was chosen to sit against it. The 126506 is the current generation of that watch, on calibre 4131.
It is a heavy watch. Platinum is about twice the density of steel, and the Daytona case does not shrink to compensate, so the first thing anyone says on handling one is that it does not feel like the steel version at all. The 950 alloy is also softer than gold, which means it marks more readily and polishes differently — something worth knowing before you buy a worn one.
It replaced the 116506, which ran from 2013. Both are platinum with the ice-blue dial and brown bezel, and both come with and without diamond markers. Tell us whether you mind which generation and whether the diamond indices are wanted or specifically not.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the dial ice blue?
It is Rolex's convention for platinum. The colour is not offered on the steel or gold Daytonas, so an ice-blue dial on an Oyster case identifies the metal on sight.
What is the difference between the 126506 and the 116506?
The 116506 ran from 2013 on calibre 4130. The 126506 replaced it in 2023 with calibre 4131 and the redrawn case. Both are 950 platinum with the ice-blue dial and chestnut Cerachrom bezel.
Does platinum scratch more than gold?
It marks differently. The 950 alloy is softer and tends to displace rather than lose metal, so it picks up hairlines readily but polishes back well. We report the case and bracelet condition in detail for that reason.
How long does it take to source one?
