Linate is the default, the city airport with its own business aviation terminal and customs on site, but it closes to most traffic overnight and caps parking in Fashion Week. Malpensa takes the largest cabins and the night arrivals from the Gulf and the United States, and is forty-five minutes from Como. Bergamo is the fallback when both are full. We choose the airport around your day, and on a Como weekend the car or the boat is waiting at whichever one it is.

Super-midsize jets from Dubai refuel once, adding about an hour; a heavy jet flies it non-stop from about $60,000. Linate closes overnight, so a late arrival from New York lands at Malpensa. Lake Como is about forty-five minutes from Malpensa by car and about ten by helicopter from Linate.

Milan fills twice a year for fashion and once for furniture, and on those weeks Linate's parking is allocated rather than requested. Outside them the airports are easy.
Passport details go ahead, border control meets you in the terminal, and the car to the Quadrilatero or the boat on the lake is arranged in the same conversation as the flight.
Schengen border control and customs are cleared inside the business aviation terminal at Linate or Malpensa, usually in minutes. UK and US passport holders enter visa-free for ninety days in any 180; other nationalities may need a visa or an ETIAS authorisation, which we confirm when we book.
Pets travel in the cabin. Entering Italy, a dog or cat needs a microchip, rabies vaccination and an EU health certificate or pet passport; we arrange the paperwork with the handler.
A chauffeured car meets the aircraft on the ramp at Milan Linate or whichever airport you land at, and the driver knows the private terminal, not the commercial one.

From Geneva, Nice, Paris, London or anywhere in Europe, usually yes: a light jet can often depart within a few hours. From New York or Dubai, twenty-four hours is the realistic minimum because of crew duty times, though we have done it faster.
About 45 minutes from Geneva, about 50 minutes from Nice, about 1 hour 20 from Paris, about 1 hour 50 from London, about 6 and a half hours from Dubai with one stop in a super-midsize jet, and about 8 hours from New York non-stop in a heavy jet. Westbound flights from the Gulf are slightly longer than the return.

Fashion Week in late February and late September, when Linate's parking is capped and slots go a fortnight out; the Salone del Mobile in April; the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in early September; summer weekends on Lake Como; and the week before Christmas. On those dates we book the slot with the flight and hold Malpensa or Bergamo as the fallback.
